Blab and Melonheadz

Tonight I got to catch a blab show with my teacher friends and the creator of Melonheadz at  I am starstruck.

Her work is phenomenal. However her life story was amazing. She is so humbled and has a huge heart. She  spoke of times they didn't have enough money for food. She prayed that God would help her. She now pays it forward. She is a truly an inspiration.

Are you addicted to Melonheadz like me? You can join her Melonheadz addicts club for a lifetime fee of $50. You will get exclusives and special deals.

Please check out her blog.

Another wonderful and creative person is Blogs fit for a Queen. They redesigned my blog!!! They were amazing to work with. They knew what I wanted and I didn't even know yet. I literally screamed with delight when I saw my final blog design. Please if you are looking for a design. I recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

Rocket Learns to Read

May 2015

Rocket Learns to Read

This is one of my favorite units this year.

I decided to do this at the end of May. The upper grades were testing, we were doing end of year testing. The weather reminded us that summer break was only a few weeks away. My hopes were that this project would help engage the students until the very end of school.

When the students came in this was waiting for them on the carpet. The students were so excited.

The students read the note that Rocket left. They were so excited.

Rocket ask the students to teach his friends to read and write.

The students got to pick their dog.

The students even taught Math to their puppies.

Stay tune for more adventures with Rocket ........

Rachel's Challenge - Kindness Chains

March 2015

Rachel's Challenge - Kindness Chains.

For those of that do not know what Rachel's Challenge is, Rachel Scott was the first victim of the Columbine tragedy in 1999. She was someone who always saw the good in everyone. She went out of her way to be kind. There are so many things that her family found after her death, like her hand print and journal that lead to this amazing program. Please visit the website and learn more about it.

My students have really embraced Rachel's Challenge. They are such a kind class.  When we see an act of kindness we write it on a chain. Our goal was to have our chains reach around the entire classroom. I promised the students a pizza party and cookie and milk when they reached this goal. This month we got to celebrate our kindness.

We also celebrated our spring break about learning about hashtags #springbreak #spring
